The Beach
Memória beach is the place where the so-called Mindelo's Landing took place. It was on this beach that during the Liberal Wars D. Pedro landed in 1832 with an army of 7500 men to fight the troops of his brother D. Miguel. In honor of his victory the Obelisk of Memory was erected.

This beach was once known as Pampelido beach, Arenosa beach and also as Ladrões beach.
